Alpha is an opportunity for anyone who wants to explore Life and Faith in a safe place through informal conversation. At Alpha we meet once a week for 10 weeks to watch a short video and then have a discussion. Alpha is for anyone, whether you’ve been a Christian and want to learn more, never stepped foot in a Church before, or whether you’re unsure on whether God even exists, Alpha is the place for you.
1. What does Alpha look like?
The group watch a 20 minute video and then discuss the content. People can ask questions and share life stories as much or as little as they want to. No questions are off limits.
2. I’m not a Christian or a member of the church – I’m not sure I even believe in God. Can I join?
Yes! Alpha is definitely for people who would say they aren’t yet Christians. And if you don’t like it after a week or two, you can simply stop attending. No one will be offended, no one will chase you up. You’re free to come and go as you feel.
3. Can I invite people who aren’t yet Christians to Alpha?
Absolutely! Alpha is all exploring what faith is, and who God is, so it’s a great introduction for anyone interesting in finding out more about Christianity.
4. I’ve done Alpha before, can I do it again?
Many people who have done Alpha before say that they learn something new every time. So it’s absolutely worth doing it more than once. And remember, Alpha is really all about reaching new people. So if you’re familiar with the course, you’re in a great place to invite your friends/family/neighbours.
