Volunteer

We believe that Serving others is a Privilege. And it takes a big team of volunteers to make everything that we do possible! There are many different opportunities to volunteer at Foundry Community Church, whether that’s on a Sunday or throughout the week.

Volunteer on a Sunday

Hospitality Teams:

(1) Welcome – providing a warm and friendly welcome to people as they arrive at one of our Sunday services, and making connections with first time visitors. (Time Required: 10:30 – 11:10am and 11:55am – 12:15pm)

(2) Stewarding – welcoming people into the Main Arena as they arrive at one of our Sunday services, directing people to empty seats, and being on hand for any questions throughout the service. (Time Required: 10:30am – 12:15pm)

(3) Refreshments – providing hot drinks before our Sunday services, this involves setting up, keeping an eye on the refreshment area and tidying everything away. (Time Required: 10:45am – 1:00pm)

(4) First Aid – Being on hand during our Sunday services for any first aid situations. You must have an up-to-date First Aid certificate in order to join this team. (10:45am – 12:15pm)

(5) Car Park – providing a warm and friendly welcome to people as they arrive at one of our Sunday services, and making connections with first time visitors. (Time Required: 10:30 – 11:10am)

Children’s Teams:

(1) FDK Burst – providing an engaging programme for children age 3 – year 1 in Burst. The role requires set up time, assisting with the child check-in process, and looking after children for about 40 minutes during the service. (Time Required: 10:15am – 11:00am and 11:20am – 12:25pm)

(2) FDK Fuse – providing an engaging programme for children age year 2 – year 6 in Fuse. The role requires set up time, assisting with the child check-in process, and looking after children for about 40 minutes during the service. (Time Required: 10:15am – 11:00am and 11:20am – 12:25pm)

*All children’s workers are subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Production Teams:

(1) Tech Director – overseeing our tech area on a Sunday, responsible for leading a team of 3/4 volunteers, making sure things run on time, plus vision mixing for our online service. (Time Required: 09:00am – 12:15pm)

(2) AV Engineer – responsible for running the presentation software that projects song words and videos onto the screen and through to our online service. Full training is provided for this role. (Time Required: 09:00am – 12:15pm)

(3) PA Engineer – responsible for running the audio side of our Sunday services. Full training is provided for this role. (Time Required: 09:00am – 12:15pm)

(4) Camera Operator – responsible for providing the camera shots used for our Sunday services. Full training is provided for this role. (Time Required: 09:45am – 12:15pm)

(5) Online Host – providing a warm and friendly welcome to people via the online chat section as they join us on one of our online Sunday services, and making connections with first time visitors. (Time Required: 10:45am – 12:15pm)

Worship Team:

(1) Band – responsible for leading us in worship during the singing part of our Sunday services. This could be through playing an instrument, singing or both. (Time Required: 09:00am – 12:15pm)

Volunteer during the week

FDY:

Team Members – providing an engaging programme for young people on a Friday night. The role requires set up and clear up time,  and being part of the team that delivers a mixture of games, activities, trips, tuck shop, workshops, relevant talks FIFA tournaments and water fights to name just a few things! (Time Required: Friday evenings, 6:30 – 9pm)

Make Lunch:

Team Members – being part of the team that runs Make Lunch clubs in the school holidays. Make Lunch provides nutritious meals for children and their parents/carers, as well as activities such as craft and sports which promote mental wellbeing. Team members can get involved in serving food, befriending parents/carers, and putting on craft, games and sports for the children. (Time Required: Tuesday’s and/or Thursday’s in school holidays, 11am – 2pm)

*Please note that to join our FDY and Make Lunch teams you must go through an application process, which includes child protection training and an enhanced DBS check.

Reception:

Team Members – providing a friendly and warm welcome to people as they arrive on site during the week, or call up our phone line. Receiving deliveries, and being a point of contact at the entrance to the main church building.  (Time Required: Monday – Friday 9am – 4:30pm, whether you’re able to volunteer just a morning or an afternoon, or multiple days)

Kitchen Cupboard:

Team Members – keeping on top of the regular donations made to our kitchen cupboard. Providing an up-to-date stock check of what items we have and what items are needed. Putting together food parcels as and when they are needed. (Time Required: flexible)
