Belonging

We all want to belong. To someone or something. If you’re a follower of Jesus, you belong to His church, which is his body of believers here on earth. The membership has been paid (Acts 20:28), Jesus holds it together as the Lead Pastor of every church (Hebrews 3:6), and Jesus has a role and a function for each and every one of us in His body – because that is what we are (1 Corinthians 12:27, Ephesians 2:10).

So if you consider the Foundry Church to be your local church, how can we belong? It’s quite simple. We choose to show up more often that we don’t; we plug ourselves into community, refusing the temptation to do life alone and in isolation – and we get stuck into church life, and we engage and grow. We don’t HAVE to do anything to be part of our church; we GET to do so much however. And as we give ourselves to building His house, Jesus partners with us and leads us into fullness of life. Make the choice again today. Choose life, choose church.
