Lost for Words

Matthew 6:9-15

The Beauty of the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-15)

Sometimes when we really want to pray, we just don’t know what to say. Well that’s OK, Jesus knew this would happen. In fact, it happened to the very first disciples (Luke 11:1)

To help them and to help us, Jesus gave us what we now call “The Lord’s Prayer”. Far from being an old-fashioned recital, these are powerful words which, when prayed from the heart, say everything that a disciple of Jesus should want to say.

So go. Find a quiet place. Hear the voice of the Father and respond with the words of the Son.

  • Do you ever pray the Lord’s Prayer? If so, when and why?
  • Which part of the Prayer speaks to you most?
  • How do you feel about the Fear of the Lord?
  • How do you feel about forgiveness?
