Prayer That Changes Me

Matthew 6:5-15

Prayer is simply talking to God. And prayer doesn’t always seem to work. We don’t always appear to get answers. Sometimes we can wonder what it the point of it all? But whilst prayer doesn’t always change my situation (sometimes it does and we thank God for many answers to prayer!), praying will always change me, and change my heart.

Praying changes me by reminding me that there is a higher power in this world than me; it changes me by reminding me that God has good things for me; and it changes me by reminding me that I don’t need to be anxious about an unknown future.

God is both expecting and inviting us to pray. Come to Him again today in prayer – come as you are, not as you want to be. He’s waiting.

  • If I could ask God one thing knowing I’d get a direct and immediate response, what would it be?
  • How does your prayer life look at the moment on a scale of 1-10 (1 being you never really pray, 10 being you’re regularly spending time in prayer with God?). Answer honestly. Who might you share this with and ask them to PRAY with you?
  • What is ONE thing I can do this week to pray MORE?
