Roots & Shoots – Part 8

As humans, we would rather stay safe in our comfort zones. However, like the early Church, God will often use difficult situations to move us out of comfort and into His purpose 

1. Do we want to live safe, self-centred lives? Or do we want to live lives driven by God’s purpose? 
2. Read Acts 7:54 – 8:8. Think and discuss about Stephen’s life
3. Read the following Scriptures. What do they teach us about God’s plans to move us out of our comfort zones? ( Genesis 46:3-4, Genesis 50:24-25, Exodus 1:6-12, Exodus 3:7-8)
4. What will it cost you to be all that God wants you to be? What does God want you to lay down so you can say ‘yes’ to His plans? E.g. comfort, reputation, money/luxury, life … (Read: Luke 9:23, John 15:20, John 16:33)
5. Read Genesis 50:20. How does Joseph’s life encourage you in the midst of your discomfort?
