Mark 10:13-16 Mark 10:46-52
Most of us have at least one ‘pet hate’! Pet hates are the little things that annoy us/get under our skin….and pet hates tend to be….. petty! We can often get very het up and cross about minor, trivial things, that actually don’t really matter.
God wants us to be concerned and bothered about the things that concern and bother Him. In Proverbs 31:8 God asks us to ‘speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; to speak up and judge fairly; to defend the rights of the poor and needy’.
Children and the vulnerable in our society, may need people to speak up for them.
Jesus love for children is clear in Mark 10:13-16. He rebuked the disciples for trying to keep the children away from Him. Jesus was indignant about this as He recognised the importance and value of children and wanted to bless them.
Our attitude to children and the vulnerable, should reflect the same caring, loving, protecting, appropriate love of Jesus. In life we have a responsibility for others and need to be alert and on our guard in case situations that concern us arise, where we need to ‘speak up’ for those who cannot speak up for themselves.
Foundry Community Church takes safeguarding very seriously. We all have a duty and responsibility to speak up. FCC has people who are Safeguarding Leads that we can report concerns to. They can be contacted as follows….
