Foundry Kids

For Children aged 0 - Year 6.

“We want your kids to have fun and enjoy church!”

All our Children’s groups are safe experiences, with age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way – all with the purpose of helping children to follow Jesus, make friends and have fun.

FDK is our children’s provision for babies through to children in Year 6. It takes place during our 11:00am service and there are 2 different groups.

Wonder (0-2 years)

What is Wonder?

We are passionate about serving our families here at Foundry Community Church and appreciate how hard it can be sometimes to keep babies and young children occupied during our Sunday services.

For your comfort and support, we have made available a crèche facility filled with a variety of toys and a baby changing area.

The room also includes a live video feed to everything happening in our Main Arena…so you don’t have to miss a thing!

When and Where?

Wonder is in Meeting Room 1 and available during our 11:00am service on a Sunday. Please note it is a non-supervised room so parents are responsible for their children at all times.

FDK (Age 3 – year 6)

Children meet together with the FDK team in Loft for an hour. The room is set up with toys and crafts to help children settle in, and we then look at the week’s Big Idea using interactive stories, video and games. Children have opportunity to make friends, learn from each other and the team about who Jesus is and how He changes our lives.

We know it is a big deal for many children (and their grown ups!) to join a new group and so our FDK team will work with you to make sure your child feels safe and happy.

If your child requires extra support during FDK please speak to Ruth Greenow (link) so we can look at how best we can support you and your child.

Your first visit

When you arrive, look out for the Child Check-In desk where a member of the FDK team will greet you and your family and let you know more about FDK and where we meet. They will also ask you to register your child so we can check them into the FDK session.

FDK begins about half an hour after the service starts. Everyone is together for the songs and then when the rocket blasts it is get, set, go for parents and carers to drop children off into FDK for the rest of the service. Our volunteers will help to show you where we meet. You can collect your children any time after the service up until 12:30pm.

Your child’s safety is our priority. If it is your child’s first time or you are just visiting you will need to input your child’s details onto the system. The FDK team will help you with this.

Once your child is on our system we can check them in. At this point you will receive a wristband with a unique identification code. You will need to wear the wristband throughout the service. When you collect your child from FDK, the team leader will check the ID code against your child’s name on the register before signing them out.

If we need to contact you during the service, your child’s identification code will appear on the screen in the main arena or a volunteer will come and get you and direct you to the FDK room.

We make sure each room that is used is safe in its layout and equipment. All our volunteers are screened with an application process and a DBS is carried out, as well as attending ongoing child protection training.
